What’s New in CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003)?

CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) has developed the world’s leading vendor-neutral family of technology certifications. CompTIA has been developing training and exams for computing support, networking, security, open-source (Linux) development, cloud, and mobility for more than 20 years. CompTIA certifications are known and valued around the world for their high quality and strict criteria. They have certifications on a wide range of technology topics.

What’s New in CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003)_

CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003)

Cloud computing is one of the frontier technologies in the IT industry. As more organizations migrate from conventional enterprise computing to cloud computing, cloud computing skills are becoming more in demand. CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003) certification is a powerful success tool that will undoubtedly enhance the understanding of cloud computing. CompTIA Cloud+ (Plus) Certification is the only performance-based IT certification that considers cloud-based infrastructure services as part of wider IT systems operations, regardless of platform.

CompTIA Cloud+ is now ISO 17024-compliant and has been certified by the US Department of Defense to meet directive 8570.01-M requirements. CompTIA Cloud+ has been approved by the Department of Defense for three critical workforce categories:

  • Information Assurance Manager Level I (IAM I)
  • Cybersecurity Service Provider Infrastructure Support (CSSP-IS)
  • CSSP Analyst (CSSP-A)

Comtia Cloud Plus

CompTIA Cloud+ is aligned with the US Government Cloud Smart initiative in addition to these workforce groups.

Why CompTIA Cloud+ CV0-003?

If you want to enter into the booming, competitive IT industry or improve your skills in the evolving cloud computing market, being CompTIA Cloud+ certified will help you significantly increase your chances of success. Although businesses and institutions demand that their applicants have a strong educational background, there are still additional criteria, such as professional certifications. Given this, it’s obvious that passing the CompTIA CV0-003 exam would help candidates earn higher wages and advance in their careers. Obtaining the CompTIA Cloud+ certification verifies that you possess the required skills to be a competent cloud engineer. Candidates will also gain a wide and deep understanding of cloud computing operations, providing them with unrivaled exposure to this fast-paced sector.

The most popular trend among organizations is to use multiple clouds. To escape vendor lock-in and take advantage of best-of-breed technologies, businesses are rapidly deploying their applications through several private and public clouds. It necessitates that employees be able to switch between major cloud platforms. CompTIA Cloud+ certification validates that IT professionals have the expertise and experience to work through multi-vendor cloud platforms.

The New Cloud+ CV0-003

The cloud is all about developing applications that are constantly updated, secure, and highly accessible – all of which are key components of the new CompTIA Cloud+ exam and demonstrate the importance of a security-first mindset that allows for agile technology implementations.

The new CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003), which will be available in June 2021, reflects changes in the industry, with a greater emphasis on the skills required to make the cloud more secure and available. While the refreshed offering continues to highlight the foundational aspects of cloud technology emphasized in CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-002), it extends in two key areas: security and high availability.

Cloud Security

Cloud security is critical for companies making the transition to the cloud. Cloud computing is no less vulnerable than an on-premise system to security threats that are continually changing and becoming more sophisticated. CompTIA understands that in today’s work-from-home environment, remote workers need secure, uninterrupted access to data, software, and solutions that help their organizations grow. CompTIA Cloud+ certifies the skills and abilities needed to accomplish this.

The new CompTIA Cloud+ exam delves further into the skills and abilities required to protect cloud environments, ensuring that candidates have the necessary hands-on experience to secure environments regardless of vendor solution.

The updated CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003) exam now has an entire objective dedicated to high-availability, to ensure 24-hour access to all your data and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. This exemplifies the trend toward cloud-hosted solutions in both large and small businesses.

The exam continues to emphasize the importance of compliance requirements, which is a crucial feature in today’s ever-changing regulatory world, in addition to validating the technological security skills cloud engineers need.

In addition, the CompTIA Cloud+ Certification exam verifies that the successful candidate possesses the required knowledge and skills to become familiar with cloud architecture and design, implement cloud-based services and solutions, maintain, secure, and optimize a cloud environment with ease, and troubleshoot common cloud management issues.

Exam Domains

The CompTIA Cloud+ CV0-003 exam assesses a candidate’s abilities in five domains:

  • Domain 1: Cloud Architecture and Design (13%)
  • Domain 2: Security (20%)
  • Domain 3: Deployment (23%)
  • Domain 4: Operations and Support (22%)
  • Domain 5: Troubleshooting (22%)

CompTIA Cloud+ is aimed at professionals who work with technology such as securely implementing and maintaining cloud technologies, cloud computing environments, and roles such as Project Manager, Cloud Computing Services, Cloud Engineer, Network Engineer, Network Administrator, Cloud Developer, Cloud Specialist, Manager, Data Center SANs and more.

The CompTIA Cloud+ CV0-003 certification is not an entry-level certification. It is aimed at system administrators with at least two-three years of experience. Furthermore, it is recommended that candidates who take the exam have the following experience:

  • CompTIA Network+ and Server+ or equivalent knowledge
  • Familiarity with any major hypervisor technology for server virtualization
  • Knowledge of cloud service models
  • Knowledge of IT service management

The Difference Between CV0-002 and CV0-003

The CompTIA Cloud+ certification exam (CV0-002) focuses on integrating and managing cloud technology as part of a larger system operation. It is assumed that candidates can combine ideas to address particular business needs across a variety of industries. On the other hand, the new CompTIA Cloud+ (CV0-003) exam verifies the knowledge and skills required to deploy and automate secure cloud environments that ensure the high availability of business systems and data.

The CompTIA Cloud+ CV0-002 exam assesses a candidate’s abilities in these five domains:

  • Domain 1: Configuration and Deployment (24%)
  • Domain 2: Security (16%)
  • Domain 3: Maintenance (18%)
  • Domain 4: Management (20%)
  • Domain 5: Troubleshooting (22%)
