The AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA) exam was updated on August 30, 2022, with the new exam code SAA-C03. Registration opened for the updated exam on July 26, 2022. The last version of AWS SAA certification (SAA-C02) was discontinued on August 29, 2022.

The AWS SAA certification exam validates a candidate’s ability to design secure, resilient, high-performing, and cost-effective architectures.

Pre-Requisites: You should have at least one year of hands-on experience designing cloud solutions using AWS services. It is advantageous to have at least six months of experience with the AWS cloud in any function, including technical, managerial, sales, purchasing, and financial.

AWS Solutions Architect Associate (SAA) old vs. new domains

The exam domains for the upcoming SAA-C03 exam are almost identical to those for the SAA-C02 exam, with three of them having the same name as the previous one. Only Domain 3: Design Secure Applications and Architectures has been renamed “Design Secure Architectures.” Additionally, some changes have been made in the weightage of exam domains.

 Domain 2: Design Resilient Architectures

The Design Resilient Architectures domain comprises 26% of the AWS SAA exam’s total weightage. This domain focuses on two primary sections:
