New malware on old Linux

ESET, a leading internet security company, released documentation on October 7th about an emerging malware family that has been relatively unknown to the public until now, revealing details that can be very relevant to Linux users, especially the ones running older RedHat Enterprise Linux versions.

This new malware is called FontOnLake, which will use the rootkit to spread the infection. This FontOn Lake malware is capable of collecting your credentials. It can act as a proxy server by using the advanced design options that are divided into three categories, and they are:

• Backdoors
• Trojanized application
• Rootkits 

So people using the older RedHat Enterprise Linux versions try to update your operating system.
